According to Arab News, the Ministry of Health has said that it has fulfilled several health requirements to prevent diseases from entering the country, maintain health safety and provide preventive and curative services during the Hajj season. The ministry is keen to raise health awareness among the pilgrims and their families upon their arrival in the Kingdom, with awareness initiatives for which not only leaflets will be distributed but screens in the halls will be displayed in Urdu, French, English and other languages. Awareness programs will be broadcast in languages.
Entry point health services are the first line of defense for the Hajj, officials said, with health experts taking precautions in line with global developments and international health regulations that apply to pilgrims, their luggage and transport. It has been reported that Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, Prince Abdul Mohsin Bin Abdulaziz Airport in Yanbu, Taif International Airport, Al Batah Port, Khali Quarter Port, Salwa Port, King Fahd Causeway. Medical services will be provided at the Way, Al-Raqa'i Port, Jadeet Arar Port, Al-Hudaydah Port, Halat Ammar Port, and Al-Wadiyya Port.
It is learned that the centers will be staffed at all times, medical equipment and vaccines will be stored, isolation rooms and ambulances will also be provided to transport sick patients to hospitals, Saudi Food and Drug Authority and Customs. Food brought by pilgrims will also be inspected by the authority, the Ministry of Health will record the number of pilgrims and report the safety measures implemented in their home countries and ports through the Health Electronic Surveillance Network.
Apart from this, the ministry also provides other preventive services, including vaccines for target countries and preventive treatment for those arriving from the African meningitis belt, officials from the ministry told the World Health Organization and the International Civil Aviation Organization. will coordinate and ensure that all pilgrims receive the necessary immunizations prior to travel.
