The Canadian military celebrated the fifth birthday of the polar bear at the Toronto Zoo in a unique way. He gave the bear, named Juno, the rank of honorary master corporal.
The zoo announced that Brigadier General Konrad Mialkowski, commander of the 4th Canadian Division and Joint Task Force Central, awarded Juno an honorary master corporal.
Juno was born on the day of commemoration of soldiers who participated in World War I and II. The bear was also named Juno after the landing of Canadian troops on the shores of Juno in World War II.
