Saudi Arabia has planned funds of 24 billion dollars, while the UAE has allocated funds of 22 billion dollars, said the Minister of State.
Islamabad (Urdu Point News Latest - 02 July 2023) Minister of State Mossadegh Malik has confirmed that Saudi Arabia and UAE have prepared a plan to invest 46 billion dollars in Pakistan. He said that Saudi Arabia has planned funds of 24 billion dollars, while the UAE has allocated funds of 22 billion dollars. While giving an interview to a private TV channel, he confirmed that both the mentioned countries are going to invest heavily in Pakistan.
He said that heavy investment in three major sectors of Pakistan will open many employment opportunities for the youth. Our youth who are aware of modern technology have full potential to show their talents to the world. "We are looking forward to bringing business opportunities here in this country," he said.
The government has recently set up committees for one-window operations to facilitate investors.
Huge investment from the Gulf region will boost business activities in Pakistan besides employment opportunities. Commenting on the arrival of Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan, he said that after the announcement of the date by the Election Commission of Pakistan, the former prime minister will come to Pakistan to lead the election campaign. The tenure of the current government will end by mid-August and the caretaker setup will invite the ECP to announce the general election schedule.
In response to a question related to the IMF, he said that a nine-month relief has been given through the agreement to conduct economic affairs properly. Responding to a question about relief to poor people, he said that despite economic challenges, the government has provided maximum relief to employees and pensioners, apart from people working in the private sector.
Regarding gas and electricity load shedding, he said that we have issued instructions to the concerned department to ensure energy supply during breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. The Minister of State said that talks have been held with Azerbaijan regarding the supply of LNG cargo to Pakistan before next winter. He said that it is the responsibility of ECP to conduct the next elections transparently. Muslim League-N will make a clean sweep in the general elections. Muslim League (N) will decide about the leadership role in the country.
