The new work permits will apply to the recruitment of employees in federal institutions

(1) On-site work, including working from headquarters or an office;
(2) Remote work within the country
(3) 'compressed workweek' in which daily working hours are longer;
(4) hybrid work, which combines on-site and remote work;

It is reported that the UAE approved a new labor law last year that introduced these flexible work patterns to reduce operational costs and increase employee productivity, contracting into new regulations. General guidelines have been defined for, the maximum contract period for any employment pattern is three years renewable based on the performance of the employee except temporary contracts, the duration of temporary contracts is less than one year. , the actual duration of the contract is determined by the employer.

The regulations also emphasize that nationals of the country are given priority in appointments to any vacant posts in federal institutions and foreigners may be appointed if a candidate does not meet the requirements of the vacancy. The regulations also allow for the appointment of retired military and civilian officials who are citizens of the country to the federal government.
