ABU DHABI (Urdu Point News Latest. 15 June 2023) United Arab Emirates has announced a new deadline for unemployment insurance scheme registration, non-registration will be fined 400 dirhams. According to local media, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emirates (MOHRE) in the United Arab Emirates has announced that fines for not registering for unemployment insurance will be effective from October 1, 2023, instead of the previous date of July 1, 2023. Date extended to allow all citizens and residents to register and enjoy the benefits of the scheme, employee website, smart application, kiosk devices, ATMs, business service centers, exchange companies , can register through banking applications, bills of telecom companies and text messages.

It has been learned that two new categories of employees have been added to the UAE's compulsory unemployment insurance scheme, with the addition of two new classes by the Ministry of Human Resources and the Emirates (MoHRE). The number of employees subscribing to the redundancy scheme has been expanded, with effect from January 1, 2023, the ministry has made it mandatory for employees working in the private sector and the federal government to subscribe to unemployment insurance, free zones and Employees working in semi-government organizations can also enroll for the Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILoE) scheme introduced by MOHRE.

It is stated that under the insurance scheme, employees with a basic salary of less than 16,000 dirhams will have to pay 5 dirhams per month or 60 dirhams per year plus VAT as a premium. 60% will be compensated while employees with basic salary above 16 thousand will have to pay premium of Dh10 per month or Dh120 per year under the scheme, policy tenure is available for one or two years.
