Lahore (Urdu Point, Latest News. June 19, 2023) The Supervisory Punjab Cabinet has approved the budget, the size of the budget will be 17 trillion 19 billion. According to the details, the caretaker Punjab Cabinet has approved the budget under Article 164 of the Constitution for the next 4 months of the financial year, and a 30% increase in the salaries of government employees in Punjab has been announced. Caretaker Information Minister Punjab Aamir Mir said during the press conference that 30 percent ad hoc relief will be given in salaries, 5 percent increase in pension has been proposed, while the pension of people over 80 years of age has been increased by 20 percent.
The education budget was increased by 31%, 325 billion rupees were allocated for ongoing development projects. Amir Mir said that 721 billion have been kept for ongoing expenses, 116 billion rupees have been allocated for pension.
In Punjab, 600 billion rupees debt will be discharged in four months in the name of wheat, 325 billion rupees have been allocated for 2500 development schemes of the province. He said that the loan of 600 billion of banks will be discharged in four months, 277 billion rupees have been kept for capital expenditure.
It should be remembered that a few days ago, Sindh's total budget of 2244 billion was presented in the provincial assembly. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah as the Finance Minister of Sindh presented the budget of Sindh 2023-24 in the Provincial Assembly. In view of revenue expenditure, the budget estimate is Rs 1411.221 billion. The expenditure estimate in the budget is Rs 2237 billion and the development funds in the budget have been increased by 78%. The revised estimate of non-tax revenue is proposed to be Rs 23.29 billion.
